4 Favorite Wellbeing Apps

Let's face it we use our phones for just about everything nowadays, and you're probably even reading this on your phone right now. We are working to put our phones down and just be in the moment. While we still have our phones in hand why not make good use of it to bring back balance. We can do this with these 4 apps(and so many others):

Yoga Studio: Another on the go app, which provides you some great yoga practice. This app is super helpful for the days I can't get to a studio or just don't want to leave home, but want to practice. Lately, I have been just free flowing in my practice, but Yoga Studio helps me piece together a practice I want to teach or practice in my own body.

Calm app: When I'm on the go it is quick and easy to do a quick or not so quick meditation. I can incorporate serene sounds or just silence. It truly gives you a sense of calm throughout your day. It is also a really dope app for children to meditate with, all the children I have meditated with loved it; they have super short meditations for their active minds and you can opt for the guided meditation to keep them zen'd out during the session.

Nike+ Training ClubYour workout app that will get you moving for those days you don't get to a gym. It's giving you no excuses to get your body and mind right. It provides you any type of workout to fit your needs and abilities. There's even workout plans that you can follow based on your goals.

TideA focusing app I saw my girl Narsha of Narsha.co talking about recently and I just had to try it myself. It is quite helpful as I am using it at this very moment to keep me focused and at peace. It is an app that lets you give yourself allotted time to focus and to break. It is both a reminder to stay focused and to give yourself a break. We all need it.

Rooting: How to stay grounded

In April of this month I completed my Yoga Teacher Training, which was 4 months of amazing transformation; transformation which I never knew would happen in a yoga training. After all I thought that I would just learn how to do yoga poses(asana) and how to teach them. Around my second week into the training I experienced some crazy pains in my sacrum. it was the most excruciating experiences I have ever had. I had no idea where it had stemmed from and set out to understand and listen to my body.

Between the training, healing energy work and my observation around the pains I was experiencing, it was mostly stemmed from activities of doing chakra work. Through more exploration it was then it was confirmed that my root chakra truly needed some work. i knew I needed to heal my root chakra but, damn it hit me like a ton of bricks. This time I couldn't just pass my amazing root chakra by with the healing that it deserved and needed.

Once the pain subsided, I focused on toning my back muscles and most of all healing my dear old root chakra. My root chakra was simply the root of everything that I am and in order to truly blossom I had to nurture my roots. I did this by dedicating more time to my yoga practice, always remembering to listen to my body. I also had been doing my Reiki session, along with flower essence, and digging deeper into myself to uncover my root and unravel them.

This ish took some work and boy was it painful, but I am happy to say I have gotten better. My Reiki practitioner noticed improvement in my root chakra, I am feeling less pain, and I feel so much more rooted. I have also been using music, and Meditation Mixtape by Shelah Marie, Bloomsville and Love, Light and that Good Sh*t by ItstracyG. When I tell you they all have come through for me during my healing process.

Flourish Moment: Be Rooted, Blossom. Listen to your body! and remind yourself; "I know there is always rooting, before blossoming".

Reiki + Release

So I have been to a couple Reiki session within the pass 6 months, in which I have been pairing with Flower Essence sessions. I have seen many people speak about the benefits they have received with doing this work and was like what the heck. Why not try to get rid of this old stagnant energy. In all honesty, I have been working on myself for the past 4 years, so trying this would only help me along in the process.

When I first started Reiki I had no idea what I would experience, but I can say the energy is for real. I would feel sensations throughout my body as I laid in a meditative state, sometimes I have thoughts, sometimes I don't. I can say that with the help of Reiki I have been able to have some clearer thoughts and connections to my path or what doesn't belong.

These session have helped me really find a space to be in complete meditation paired with listening ears and space for me to reflect into my journey. I would recommend anyone try Reiki, but don't go expecting the same results; alll our processes are different.
