What is Reiki anyways?
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese energetic technique that is said to support one to heal their physical, mental, emotion and energetic bodies. It is a non invasive hands on or off practice which uses life force energy to support the body to funnel out what no longer serves you and increase the good energy that already exists.
What are the benefits of Reiki?
Reiki comes with a lot of benefits which include the following:
Supports adjustment in the energy flow of the endocrine system brining the body into balance and harmony
Assists the body in cleansing itself from toxins
Supports the immune system
Increases vitality and postpones the aging process
Can support ease with acute injuries and chronic problems(asthma, eczema, headaches, etc.)
Creates deep relaxation, aides the body to release stress and tension
Accelerates the body's self-healing abilities
Aides one in better sleep
Helps relieve pain
Aides with the breaking of addictions
Removes energy blockages
Helps spiritual growth and emotional cleansing
Though, there are benefits there are also subtle “side effects”. Some of these “side effects” may show up as excess tiredness, dizziness, or you may feel things actively shifting. These things are nothing to worry about, but do take things slowly and provide yourself with a lot of water, rest and dark chocolate to stay grounded.
My experience with ReikI…
I explored the thought of Reiki, but it seemed weird. If you grew up Caribbean, you hear a lot about things like “obeah” or “voodoo”, so you probably were or are hesitant about it. It took me some time and research to actively seek out a practitioner until I found them. I had sessions for about roughly four to five months one time a week. These series of sessions provided me clarity to make decisions in my life, feel renewed and even relieved intense back pain. It shifted my mind about Reiki on the spot and it is what propelled me to become a practitioner to serve other millennials who have no idea of it’s benefits.
