When it comes to healing physically, mentally, and emotionally, Reiki is one of the popular options nowadays. It originated in Japan but has reached other locations, such as the US.
Invented by a Japanese monk, Mikao Usui, Reiki is all about energy healing. It came from the words “rei,” which means universal, and “ki,” which means life energy.
In this post, I will share with you what Reiki is really about and my personal experience with this amazing energy healer.
Reiki is a Japanese energetic technique that is said to support one to heal their physical, mental, emotional, and energetic bodies.
It is a non-invasive hands-on or off practice, which uses life force energy to support the body and to funnel out what no longer serves you.
It also increases the good energy that already exists.
Reiki comes with a lot of benefits, which include the following:
However, although there are benefits to having a Reiki massage, there are also subtle “side effects” that you should take note of.
Some of these “side effects” may show up as excess tiredness, dizziness, or you may feel things actively shifting.
These things are nothing to worry about but do take things slowly and provide yourself with a lot of water, rest, and dark chocolate to stay grounded.
It all started with curiosity.
I explored the thought of Reiki but I have to admit, it seemed weird.
If you grew up in the Caribbean, you hear a lot about things like “obeah” or “voodoo”, so you probably were or are hesitant about it.
As for me, it took some time and research about the matter and to actively seek out a practitioner until I found them.
I had sessions for about roughly four to five months, one time a week.
These series of sessions provided me clarity to make decisions in my life, feel renewed, and even relieved intense back pain.
It shifted my mind about Reiki on the spot and it is what propelled me to become a practitioner to serve other millennials who have no idea of its benefits.
I never thought that this amazing experience would contribute a lot to my self-care journey.
