7 Simple Self Care Practices (even when you’re super busy)
You try to maintain your self care while you try to manage all the other life things, and it can be a drag. I get it!
We all have that long to do list that we try to get through and the random stuff that comes up. I some times struggle to maintain my self care because of all the things, so I made it simple.
Far gone are the days you see your favorite wellness influencer share their wellness routine and stress yourself with the “I need to get on my game”, schedule all the yoga sessions, tell yourself you’ll go to the gym, eat raw vegan and everything in between. Nah sis, that ain’t your self care routine!
Self care doesn’t have to be this hard or huge commitment. So I compiled this list of 7 Simple Self Care Practices that you can do even when you’re super busy.
7 Simple Self Care Practices
Drink a cup of herbal tea: You can make it as simple or in depth as you need to. A great way to do this is get yourself some tea, boil the water, allow the aroma of the blend to fill the space, and sip with intention. Do this without any distraction and take in the moment with your all your senses.
Take a walk: When you get outside you have the opportunity to take in the beauty of the world. Listen to the sounds, become aware of the little things, take in the people, the culture, the vibe. If you live near a park take in the lushness of the greenery. There is so much to see and experience.
Take a long shower: A longer meditative shower can be one of thee best experiences. It gives you space to have a mini spa in your own space, where you are super comfortable and relaxed. Boost the experience by adding a candle, incense or some fresh eucalyptus to the space. Use the water to wash away any negative vibes and nourish you with the good vibes and intention you want to bring into your life.
Spend time with loved ones: You may forget how much joy our loved ones bring into your life. This is your reminder to take some uninterrupted time to spend with them. Get to know them better, play games, watch a new movie/show on Netflix. Take time to just be in the moment and joy of loved ones, whether that is family or friends.
2 Minute Meditation: Meditation is a helpful practice that get’s you relaxed. You might see other’s meditate for 10 minutes, 30 minutes or even 1 hour. You don’t have to do that, you can start small or just meditate for 2 minutes for as long as you want. Take time to just sit and listen to what your guides or inner self has to share.
Journal: Write to help you get out things that bother you, things you want to manifest more of, or to get your ideas out. A simple journal practice I recommend is bullet journaling. Though, if you feel like a stream of thoughts on paper works better for you go for it.
Have a treat: Life calls for sweet treats or your favorite kinda treat. Don’t limit yourself, but also don’t go overboard. Life is about balance, so have that ice cream, wine or whatever fits your fancy at the moment.
