I grew up in a Jamaican household where I often unconsciously experienced the culmination of cultural stress of generations prior. I realized that I was doing the same exact thing and so were my other millennial friends. It showed up in how we talked to others, talk to ourselves, where we put our time and what we put in our bodies. Then there’s the herbal remedies; you know the ginger, peppermint, or some blend of bush to feel better from almost any ailment. I can even remember a time when I was visiting Jamaica and got what I think was food poisoning and was given “bissy” tea and almost instantly the stomach bug cleared up. These things along with the introduction into various wellness practices and support have helped me grow into the person I am today.
Why I do what I Do
I know first hand what it is like trying to find balance in taking care of myself and showing up as my best in all areas of my life. My own struggles and seeing others around me struggle with navigating balance is why I feel so passionate about helping other millennial women of color navigate the six(6) areas of their life. I do this by providing education, unbiased support, and accountability in creating the balance and freedom they need for their well being.
